Greengage Films grew out of our passion and concern for the natural world.
Malka’s Journey.
Malka Holmes, the founder of Greengage Films, grew up in Snowdonia.
Graduating with BA (Hons) in Fine Art and Design from Leeds Metropolitan University, she worked as a photographer for RTL Television in Germany, and then as a photographic assistant for wildlife photographer David Woodfall.
Crossing to the moving image, she camera assisted with Channel 4’s Time Team, BBC Science in London, and BBC Specialist Factual in Cardiff.
Always focused on nature, she began volunteering for the Wildlife Trusts and RSPB, including getting her hands dirty planting trees, hedge laying and teaching outdoor education.
This led to Malka making films for NGO’s and charities working with the natural world, sowing the seed that became Greengage Films in 2011.
She returned to live and work in the landscapes of North Wales in 2012
