A Breathing Place

In 2009, the London Wildlife Trust and local residents transformed Surrey Square in Southwark from an overgrown wildlife patch into a Breathing Place for people and nature.

LWT is now running Natural Estates to help residents create green and wildlife friendly gardens where they live. The project is a partnership between London Wildlife Trust, Groundwork London and eight Social Landlords, funded through Big Lottery Access to Nature with the active involvement of Natural England.
